I have painted, drawn and doodled for as long as I can remember. My only tuition came from my art teacher back in the 1960s and the only qualification I have is an Art A level, and if you can remember those you are definitely in my age group. My main job for over 30 years was in a Power Station from which I retired in 2002 .
As a self-taught artist doing something and trying for an improvement next time is the way I work. I have tried all sorts of mediums, but oil is my favourite, and I use it predominately these days. The subjects well anything that will stay still long enough for me to get an idea what it looks like I will have a go at. If I had to commit to admitting to a painting style It would be realism but I do enjoy a bit of impressionism if I can get away with it.
I have been fortunate to have had my paintings displayed all over the world, including in London at the Mall Gallery and the Oxo Gallery and in New York at the Salmagundi Gallery on Fifth Avenue and The Explorers Club in Lower Manhattan.
I am a regular contributor to Sketch for Survival an organisation which is pledged to help save wild animals from extinction. Sketches from Celebrities and artwork from Award winning wildlife artists are auctioned online with the proceeds going to the cause. Also over the past few years I have been a Finalist at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Exhibition, and at The Society of Equestrian Artists Summer Show.
If you like what I do and would like me to do something for you I would be only to pleased
